Abstract
Ronauly (2016) in his journal conducted a survey to see the level of public satisfaction towards public toilet facilities in Indonesia. He found a strong correlation between the level of satisfaction of public toilet use and four categories of complaints towards public toilets in Indonesia, namely: (1) dirty, (2) bad aroma, (3) inadequate facilities, and (4) treatment. In-depth interview, focus group discussion (FGD), and surveys conducted by the writers also showed that many consumers find it difficult to find decent public toilets, especially in places they rarely visit. The difficulty of finding clean public toilets with these attributes, namely: (1) decent facilities, (2) close proximity, and (3) short line is the customer pain point which still remains unsolved. Piti Potty is a public sanitation service provider company focusing on the public toilet industry in Indonesia by helping consumers to distinguish which public toilets: (1) are clean, (2) have complete facilities and are easy to find, (3) have no smell, and (4) are comfortable. Piti Potty provides a value proposition in the form of services that are: (1) easily searchable and accessible, (2) fast and friendly, and (3) clean, healthy and comfortable. The public sanitation services provided by Piti Potty consist of: (1) procuring public toilet facilities, (2) locating the nearest Piti Potty toilet, (3) monitoring the number of queues on the toilet, (4) making reservations through the toilet booking service online, and (5) monitoring and maintenance of public toilets. All toilet facilities provided by Piti Potty provide toilets with the latest standard facilities with cleanliness that will always be guaranteed so as to provide a pleasant visit to public toilets. In addition, Piti Potty will also provide a brand on its distribution channel as a signal to consumers that the public toilets that the company provides are guaranteed cleanliness. There are approximately 32,678,423 people in the Jabodetabek region in the year of 2019. It is estimated that 57.02% (approximately 10,285,520 people) from the population are Piti Potty’s potential customer. The annual growth of the population estimates around 1.34%, therefore the population of Jabodetabek is predicted to reach about 34,927,346 people in 2024. As a result, it is expected that the market potential will also reach around 11,117,305 people in 2024.
