Abstract
One of the forms of ritual is event. However, in the pandemic era of COVID 19, communities cannot perform their ritual offline, so to keep the activity going, they made an online event. There are four elements to define ritual, which are artifact, script, role, and audience. If the ritual is performed continuously, liminality can be created. Liminality is the process of pre liminal, liminal, and post liminal. This study of liminality is important because in the ritual process there is an element of liminality that can produce collective emotional energy and group solidarity. This study aims to find out whether a community's online event can be categorized as a ritual, and also to explore how the liminality happened. The research methodology chosen was netnography and narrative, using in-depth interviews and online observations of events owned by the Indo Harry Potter Community, namely Floo Network.
